ACT NOT WORKING?
YOU HAVE TO OPEN IT BEFORE YOU OPEN FINAL FANTASY! If you opened the game before the tool, you have to go back to Character Selection at least and then log in again. Otherwise, the tool will not work.
In Final Fantasy XIV you are not supposed to talk about the extra programs you use. This includes ReShade, XivLauncher, ACT. Everyone uses them, but you must not talk about them. No one got banned for them, but the game creators don’t like people talking about them for some reason in the game. You can talk about them everywhere else, just don’t use game chat, saying you are using this and that.
WITH ACT, YOU MUST NOT CALL OUT OTHERS FOR THEIR STATS! FFXIV takes this kind of behavior very seriously, and they do ban people for it.
But you don’t get banned for using ACT. Streamers, proggers (people who do end-game content), almost everyone who takes the game seriously uses it.

Overlays
You can have all kinds of “overlays” that show you data in real-time. I never used these kind of things, so I can’t recommend anything, but I often see them on screenshots and live streams.
I mostly just use ACT to see if I am doing okay. If my stats are not too off or something, because if they are, I am messing up my rotation big time.
