Guide – FFXIV – Final Fantasy XIV – Fast install or reinstall the game

If you ever need to (re-)install your game very fast, here is a guide for you:

Step 1: Download the game.

Step 2: Go through the installer.

Step 3: It will just close and there will be an icon on your desktop after this. This step will not download the game at all, it just puts a few files into your chosen FFXIV folder.

Step 4: DON’T USE the icon on your desktop. Download XivLauncher.

Step 5: Run XivLauncher after you install it and it will download the game super fast. You can use the normal game launcher or XivLauncher, once the download is complete, both will work just fine.

This way you can download the game within 30 minutes if you have a super fast internet connection, instead of waiting for 5-10 hours.
